How we write these articles
Everything in the article library is written by the team that builds MyBaby. We are software developers, not clinicians — which is the most important thing to know before reading anything here about infant care, and it is the reason the articles are written the way they are.
Do you give medical advice?
No. No article on this site states a claim about infant health that is not in a cited source. What we do instead is summarise guidance published by named bodies — the World Health Organization, the CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NHS, ESPGHAN — and link to the original so you can read it yourself and see its date.
That is the honest limit of what people without clinical qualifications can legitimately do, and it is also what search guidelines actually ask for when an author is not an expert: demonstrable sourcing rather than borrowed authority.
What are the rules, exactly?
- Every substantive claim is attributed to a named organisation, with a working link and the year of the guidance.
- No claim appears that is not in one of those sources. If we cannot cite it, it does not go in — including things that are probably true.
- Where national guidance genuinely differs, the article says so rather than picking one country and presenting it as universal. The app ships in eight languages and the advice is not the same everywhere.
- Every article carries a visible last-reviewed date and the medical disclaimer.
- Articles are checked against their sources when the reviewed date passes twelve months. Stale health content is a liability.
What will you not publish?
Articles on the two topics where wrong information does the most harm — safe sleep and allergen introduction — are written but held back from publication until a qualified clinician has reviewed them. Two currently are.
That costs us traffic on the two highest-volume topics in the category, and we are keeping the rule anyway. Thin content on infant sleep safety is not a growth tactic, it is a hazard.
Who is accountable for this?
Macca Design d.o.o., the company that publishes MyBaby, is responsible for everything on this site. The same small team writes the articles and builds the app, so there is no content desk between a mistake and the person who can fix it.
How do I report something wrong?
Email info@maccadesign.hr with the article and what is wrong with it. If you are right we will correct it and move the reviewed date, and if a source has been superseded we would rather hear it from you than leave it up. That address reaches the people who write these pages, not a support queue.
